When I started Voice of Backgammon after the 2017 Monte Carlo World Championships, with the help and encouragement from Phil Simborg, Arda Findikoglu, Patti Rubin, Ken Bame, Lynn Ehrlich, Falafel, Paul Magriel, and many others, my goal was to make backgammon entertaining and interesting for players of all ages both novice and expert.
But I never dreamed that people would be watching over one million minutes of these videos – on YouTube alone!
Heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who found our YouTube site and watched. Your views, subscriptions, and recommendations are helping backgammon grow with gusto: Thanks to your support, backgammon is back. Join me as we go for million #2!

Join the BMAB – Backgammon Masters Awarding Body – for its first-ever Middle East Ranking Tournament, to be held at the Merit Park Hotel & Casino on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, immediately preceding the 6th Merit Open International Backgammon Championship 2018.
The BMAB confers titles to backgammon players based on experience and performance. In these Ranking Tournaments, BMAB records, transcribes, and computes PR for all matches. What a great opportunity to see how well you can play (or in my case, how poorly!).
Whether you are a novice, intermediate, or expert, I recommend that you participate in a BMAB Ranking Tournament because it’s an exciting experience and a wonderful learning opportunity.
I’ve signed up for this one and hope you will, too.
Organizers do not expect available seats on the day of the tournament. With this tournament limited to 16 players, go ahead and pre-register now!
