A full-time backgammon professional player, teacher, and student of the game, Masayuki Mochizuki, known as “Mochy,” is widely regarded as one of the top, if not the top, backgammon player in the world, with a performance rating under 2.7.
Better yet, he has established a well-earned reputation as a generous, fair, and friendly player.
Mochy’s technical knowledge is unparalleled, in part because of his incredible work ethic: He records, transcribes, and studies every match he plays to understand the root cause – and fix – for every error he makes, no matter how small.
That’s certainly one reason he is the first player in history to be designated Super Grandmaster Class 3 by the BMAB.
It is always a privilege for backgammon fans to hear Mochy’s insightful analysis as a VoB co-host.
